I believe they beadblasted it first then did some sanding. It was about $180 for the whole thing (Sumax). They also put 2 coats on, and the more coats you use, the less you have to send because it fills in the pits. My valve covers and balance tube are done in the chrome powdercoat. I haven't noticed any yellowing at all. I think they used a clear coat, but I am not positive. They look good, but it really looks nothing like chrome.
